Stuff Firefighters Like: Ridebackwards.com

RideBackwards.comI came upon the site Ride Backwards via another firefighter friend on Facebook. When I hopped over to look at their new shirts, I instantly fell in love with their site. I showed it to FireDad and he was equally as impressed. I figured I’d ask if they’d let us review something and they were kind enough to send a shirt for FireDad and a shirt each for BigBrother and LittleBrother.

I’ve got to tell you about FireDad’s shirt (which is the Fire Attack Training shirt). It’s super awesome. In fact, I’m jealous of it! (They do make a female version.) It’s made of the Nike Dri-Fit technology stuff which means that it wicks away the sweat that happens when you’re fighting a fire, training or… chasing boys through the yard. Or on the beach. He found it to be very comfortable to drive twelve hours in and rather nice to catch the breeze through when we hit the beach. (Note: Silly face brought to you as an imitation of our boys’ smile.)

FireDad

The boys shirts, while not made of the same Dri-Fit technology, are too darn cute. BigBrother is in love with the fact that he has the Maltese cross on the back of his shirt. “Just like daddy.” Although he now asks FireDad why his shirt doesn’t have a fork and a spoon. LittleBrother, however, is in love with his fire doggie shirt. If you ask him what he wants to wear, the answer is “fire doggie.” Forget Blue’s Clues. Blue is out, dalmatians with fire helmets are in.

Boys Shirts

The site has more than just t-shirts, mind you. They offer sweatshirts, gym shorts, sweatpants, other kids gear, hats, coffee mugs, bags and decals. FireDad is going to put a decal on his helmet (and I’ll snap a picture of that next time I’m in the fire station on a visit!). Head on over to RideBackwards.com to check out their other offerings.

Also, just in case you think that this gear is only for working out and fighting fires, here’s proof that it’s good “vacation wear” for all ages and sizes.

I also need to quickly mention that the customer service at RideBackwards is phenomenal. It’s a big thing with me, being treated like a person and not just some anonymous schlum on the other side of the computer. If you have an issue, just contact them and they’ll take care of you. The fire family feeling extends to this wonderful site. Kudos, RB!
